About the Channel.


The channel #alphabet was founded in the year 1997 by Lam, inFECT and Yagoda.
The idea was to collect all single letter nicknames on IRCnet. The Alphabet!
In the beginning there were only few clients and Users who tried to keep the whole alphabet.
Soon we figured that it isn't easy keeping almost the whole alphabet for a longer timer period since a lot of different lusers on IRCnet tried also to keep letters. We decided to invite some "serious" people who want help collecting the letters. We thought it's kinda easy if you have more user with more stable clients but it isn't. :)

Since we started the project, the network topology didn't allowed us to keep the whole alphabet longer than one day. As you can see, its a funny thing collecting letters but not easy.
